Mark is an experienced consultant with 23 years of specialist practice in obstetrics & gynaecology in the UK & Australia.

He graduated from the University of Edinburgh medical school. In 1999 he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and was appointed to the Oxford higher specialist training program in O&G. During this time he won a Best Teacher award from the University of Oxford medical school and published research & invited articles regularly in academic journals. He was awarded the UK Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in obstetrics & gynaecology in 2004. He has completed several additional advanced training programs in different areas of obstetrics & gynaecology.

After completing specialist training, Mark spent several years as a consultant in obstetrics & gynaecology at London’s Chelsea & Westminster hospital. Whilst there he had particular gynaecologic responsibility for minimal access gynaecology surgery and reproductive endocrinology. On the obstetric side he contributed extensively to labour ward management. Other responsibilities included providing obstetric medicine and high risk obstetrician consultations and management, the multiple pregnancy service, and postgraduate and undergraduate medical education for Imperial College.

Following relocation to Australia in 2007, Mark was appointed as one of the two O&G consultants at Kaleeya hospital, Fremantle. He played a leading role in it’s development as a highly reputable public maternity & gynaecologic surgery service over his 5 years there. He has been in private practice since 2012, manly at Glengarry Private Hospital.

Mark currently has an appointment as a consultant at the PIVET fertility centre, providing advanced management of patients receiving fertility treatment. This affiliation provides benefits for those PEARL patients requiring help to get pregnant, and also for those women who achieve pregnancy following treatment and wish continuity of care. Mark currently maintains Fellowship of the UK RCOG, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, is accredited by RANZCOG in colposcopy, and also holds accreditation at RANZCOG level 5 in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Outside the hospital, Mark enjoys sports, cultural activities, live music and spending time with his family – wife Sara and his sons Max, Dan & James.
