Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Mark is an experienced consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist with specialist practice in obstetrics & gynaecology in the UK & Australia from 1997 onwards.
He graduated from the University of Edinburgh medical school. In 1999 he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and was appointed to the Oxford higher specialist training program in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He won a Best Teacher award from the University of Oxford medical school in 2003. He was awarded the UK Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in obstetrics & gynaecology by Oxford, the RCOG and the Specialist Training Authority in 2004.
After completing specialist training, Mark spent several years as a consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist at London’s Chelsea & Westminster hospital. Whilst there he had particular responsibility for minimal access gynaecologic surgery, reproductive endocrinology, labour ward management, obstetric medicine, high risk obstetrics, and the multiple pregnancy service. He delivered postgraduate surgical & obstetric training to London-circuit specialist trainees, and undergraduate O&G education to the students of Imperial College.
Following his move to Australia to settle down with his family, Mark was appointed as one of the two obstetrician & gynaecologists at Kaleeya hospital, Fremantle. In his 5 years there, he played a leading role in the development of Kaleeya as a safe and effective public maternity service with excellent ACHS indicators. He also provided a large amount of gynaecologic surgery (mainly keyhole surgery), colposcopy & other services.
Following Kaleeya, Mark practiced obstetrics & gynaecology privately at Attadale Private Hospital until it’s reconfiguration in late 2015. He then moved his practice to Glengarry Private Hospital.
Currently, as well as his full time private obstetrics & gynaecology practice at Glengarry Private Hospital, he has an appointment as a consultant fertility specialist in Perth’s PIVET fertility centre. He spends Thursdays providing advanced fertility consultations & treatments including IVF. He is also developing innovative medical devices for use in fertility management & drug delivery.
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, is accredited by RANZCOG in colposcopy, and holds accreditation at RANZCOG level 5 in advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys sports, cultural activities, and spending time with his family.

Michelle has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, pregnancy & births. She is a Registered Nurse and Midwife, with Diploma & Graduate Diploma training at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth. Her clinical training & experience means she has a high level understanding of patients’ concerns and needs. This adds an extra dimension to the administrative service we offer our patients.
Michelle has extensive experience in setting-up and managing O&G and general medical practices. She is a member of the Australian Association of Practice Managers. She was recently honoured in their national Practice Manager of the Year awards, recognising her ability, professional development and commitment to the profession. Outside of health care she serves her community as vice-chairman of an independent private college board.
Advance-skilled Enrolled Nurse
Amie is an experienced & caring senior nurse. She achieved her nursing qualifications in 1981 at Fremantle hospital; she then completed postgraduate studies in Paediatrics at Princess Margaret Hospital. Amie consolidated her professional skills through community nursing and in professional nanny positions overseas.
In recent years she has been an important part of the surgical (especially gynaecological) nursing team, previously at Kaleeya hospital and now Fiona Stanley hospital. Her extensive experience in acute surgical nursing has made an invaluable contribution to our obstetric & gynaecological practice here at Pearl. Amie’s caring and empathetic manner is an important support to our patients through their journey back to health.
Either Amie or Michelle will always be there for examinations and procedures, providing assistance and reassurance.
